Indian Stock Market Plunges on U.S. Tariff Concerns, Crypto Markets Remain Unmentioned
India's equity markets faced a steep sell-off as fears of renewed U.S. tariffs rattled investors. The Sensex and Nifty 50 indices dropped 0.93% and 1.04% respectively, marking their worst single-day performance in four months. Reliance Industries led the decline, dragging sector benchmarks downward.
Seafood exporters Apex Frozen and Avanti Feeds plummeted 7.8% and 8.6% as tariff-sensitive sectors bore the brunt of the selloff. The Reserve Bank of India's interventions failed to stem the outflow tide, with all 16 major sectors closing in the red.
